Samsung Galaxy A3 Review & Price in Kenya

Ksh. 28,000 to Ksh. 32,000. That’s the amount of cash you need to get the Galaxy A3. I know. It is Samsung. Always more expensive. Here is it:

Samsung Galaxy A3

If you want a phone that feels awesome to touch, with the perfect weight and the perfect edges and wholly metal here is a phone you might want to check out.

These phones (A3 and A5) are glossy, trim and they both scream elegance.” – Price in Kenya.

Display:

The A3 has a Super AMOLED 4.5 inch display. It has a relatively sharp resolution of 540×960 pixels. Meaning a pixel density of about 245 pixels per inch. That is sharp.

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. So you don’t have to worry about scratches or easy breaking of the glass. You don’t need that plastic cover over your device.

Specifications:

The phone comes running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat but currently there is an update for Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. The processor is a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53.

Internal memory is 16GB and there is an option between 1GB RAM and 1.5GB RAM. You can expand storage upto 64GB with an external SD card.

Camera:

The back camera is 8MP while the front camera, which supports wide angle shots, is 5MP. The back camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.

The front camera produces high quality photos. There you go narcissists!

Battery:

The battery is a non-removable 1900mAh Lithium Ion cell. This is not good. I mean look at the Galaxy J1 which costs 12K and has 1850mAh. Why not give this phone at least 2500mAh? Oh yep, design!

For this phone to be as beautiful as it is, Samsung had to make it so thin and that means the battery had to be so small! Can the battery last a day? Well. Yes. That’s if you use KitKat. And you turn brightness to zero and stay on WiFi.

Have you used the A3? What are your thoughts? If you haven’t, are you planning on getting one?
