Best Lists

Best Phones between 10 and 15K in Kenya (July 2015)

I realised writing a list of best under 10K and best under 20K is not really sufficient. There are some people who want devices between 10 and 15K. So here is a list for you:

  • Infinix Hot Note x551

It is the cheapest on this list. It costs Ksh. 10,499. I have written so much on this device that I don’t want to do so anymore. Its biggest win is the 4000mAh battery. Here’s my full review of this phone.

  • Infinix Hot Note Pro

This is the 2nd Generation Hot Note. Though not yet in Kenya officially, it will be here soon. It has 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 1.3GHz Octa core processor and the large 4000mAh battery like its predecessor. Here’s a post I did on it.

  • InnJoo Note Pro

This is one good device. 2GB RAM, 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor. 3000mAh battery, 13MP back and 5MP front. It is so well built, look at the picture I took below. Here’s the post I wrote about the InnJoo Note.

  • InnJoo One

This is one hell of a cool device at a nice price. Perfectly built. Dragontrail Glass back and front. Well finished. Feels Premium.  Costs Ksh. 12,500 only. I’d have it as the first on this list if design was all I was going for. But it has very nice specs too. Read more about it here.

InnJoo One

  • InnJoo Fire Pro

This is a Pro version of the InnJoo Fire. I have written a little about its predecessor here. This new one was made known to me through a comment below. The Pro is a 5 inch phone with 720p display. Runs Android Lollipop with a 1.3Ghz Quad core processor. The back camera is 8MP while the front camera is 5MP. Battery is 2500mAh. It supports 4G networks.

  • Tecno Boom J7

You’ve heard of this phone surely. It is everywhere. Read my review of it here.

  • Tecno M6

Another awesome device from Tecno. Slim and nicely finished. There’s a lot of interest on this phone from readers of my site. Check out my review of it here.

  • Tecno L6

If you want good battery life, and I mean awesome battery life, this is the best phone in the market currently. The battery is 4500mAh! The phone features also, though not bad, don’t need a lot of battery. For example the screen isn’t HD. It runs on Android Kitkat. Read more about it here.

  • Tecno F6

I hated the problems on this device. But they were solved, I hear. This is an awesome device. The battery is the only issue. Read more about it here. By now I am sure you can get it at less than 15,000.

  • Samsung Galaxy J1

The reason I “like” this phone is because it brings 4G/LTE support to the ‘low-end’ market. But you’ll suffer in terms of battery life. Read about the device here.

I have also compared the Boom J7 to the Galaxy J1 as they are competing at the same price range. You can read that post here.

  • Samsung Galaxy Core 2 and Galaxy Core Prime

The two above are agreeably good devices from Samsung. Here’s a post on the Galaxy Core 2. If you don’t want the Core 2, I have a post of the Galaxy Core Prime here. The latter betters the former by slight specification differences.

  • Lumia 540

I haven’t written anything on this phone yet. It has a 5 inch 720p display. With Clearblack technology. It has a Quad Core 1.2GHz Processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage.Back camera is 8MP while front camera is 5MP. Awesome right? Battery is 2200mAh. It is on sale at Ksh. 15,000 flat.

  • Lumia 535

This is one cool device. I hope it gets Windows 10. Read more about it here.

  • Alcatel Idol Mini

I don’t know anyone who’s used this phone, but I was researching about the phones to put on this list I came about it. It should cost less than 15K right now. It has 512MB RAM. Poow! 4GB storage huh?? It is 4.3 inches. Let me leave it at that. It is well designed though. And yu can lie to people that you have the Idol 3. Hehe.

Which phone have I left out on this list? Is there one in particular you’ve seen or used that you would want to see on this list? Tell me about it.

I also have a list of the best phones under 10K here. I’m working on a new list of best under 20K as the previous one hasn’t been updated since November last year. Technology keeps changing and it is hard to have a single list. Share this widely.
