Say Hi to the new Telkom Kenya

Orange Kenya is now officially Telkom Kenya. It has gone back to its previous name after Orange sold its shares to Helios Investment Group.

You will remember (maybe) that before Orange investing in, the company was called Telkom Kenya and had green and yellow colours.

The speculations on what new name or what new colours they’ll use is over now. And here’s the new logo and branding.

The new Telkom Kenya is also shutting down Orange Money in the next 30 days and customers have been advised to withdraw all their cash at Equity Bank Branches.

But there’s been talk that the new investors, Helios, are planning to launch a new mobile money service platform by July. Maybe this will be a game changer. But we wait to see.

With the rebranding, Telkom Kenya is also launching their 4G Services. Safaricom has enjoyed being the only 4G network countrywide, but things are about to change. Though they recently launched 4G Plus.

Telkom Kenya has about 5 Million subscribers and hopefully with a new strategy they can better compete with Safaricom and Airtel Kenya.

We hope their free 50MB daily and their cheap data bundles remain or get better with the new name.

Let the Data Bundle Price Wars 2 begin. LOL
