TECNO Claims 4 Days Battery Life with the Pouvoir 3

TECNO has recently unveiled the 3rd generation of their battery focused Pouvoir series. We are still not sure how the name is pronounced and I’ve had issues even spelling it. But the main highlight here is the phone’s 5000mAh battery which TECNO claims can last 4 days.

This is such a bold claim for a 5000mAh cell given we have interacted with 4000mAh cells, and still recharge them every night. How this has been measured isn’t clear yet, and hopefully when reviews come in we get to see if the 4 day claim is anywhere close. It could be 4 day single charge without internet access.

There’s a 6.2 inch display with the huge notch trend from last year. The resolution maxes out at 720p, and the phone runs Android 8 Oreo which is now two years old. There’s a single 13MP camera at the back, and another single 13MP front camera.

The phone supports 4G Networks, and is a Dual SIM device. It should support Faiba4G VoLTE, but this is speculative, let’s wait for a device to test this on.

With it’s 720p display, and the undemanding 1.2GHz MT6739 processor, perhaps the 5000mAh battery can deliver impressive hours, but I highly doubt 4 days is possible. What are your thoughts? Is there any reason to upgrade from last year’s Pouvoir 2?

  1. Outdated! Outdated ugly 2017 notch, outdated software, outdated design, outdated processor, outdated camera system.. if Tecno can go back in time and launch this phone it 2017, I would be excited. Now, it just seems oudated and overpriced. I never thought overpriced would ever be used in the same sentence as a tecno, but with the competition from huawei, xiaomi and even Samsung, only people without proper knowledge,(or friends like me) would actually consider it. You know what would have worked for 2019? A dewdrop notch, at least a helio A22, chip, P22 would be nice but even better would be the p60/p70.. and a dual camera. Maybe, just maybe, I would recommend and even maybe consider it. Now, no! This thing belongs in the past.
