Infinix NOTE 7 Series: huge displays, huge batteries and 48MP cameras

Update:
NOTE 7 4GB RAM/64GB storage – KES. 18,399
NOTE 7 6GB RAM/128GB storage – KES. 20,699
NOTE 7 LITE 4/64GB – KES. 15,799

Infinix has officially announced the new NOTE 7 series. This wasn’t through an event though. Just that their official website started listing the new phones. Whether or not this was accidental or planned we don’t know. The devices are official, so now all we do is wait for when they’ll be available in Kenya, and when you’ll be able to buy the phones. This will definitely take a while with the current situation worldwide. Anyway, there are two new phones in the series:

The weird thing is there’s no mention of a stylus anywhere. We’ve known since the NOTE 4 that Infinix’s NOTE series include a stylus, and with every launch, we’ve seen images showcasing the stylus. This year, none of the images, nor the official specifications list a stylus. So we can say Infinix may be ditching that all together. However, we are not sure about this because there may be a PRO version later on with a stylus. Only time will tell.

This is a crazy phone. Why? Because of that huge 6.95 inch display. If you’ve always wanted a huge gaming phone at a budget, this is the phone you will be considering. The best thing about this device is the Helio G70 chip.

I hate the HD display, and I hate that there’s no USB type-C. But I feel many people may ignore that because of the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and 5000mAh battery for a price range of between KES. 17,000 and KES. 20,000. These prices are estimates based on India, and will definitely go up when the phone launches locally because we always get expensive prices here.

In the camera department, there’s a 48MP main lens, a 2MP extra, another 2MP extra, and a new lens Infinix is calling dedicated low-light video lens. Once we get a unit, we’ll try to explain what the hell that is. The phone runs Android 10.

Infinix NOTE 7 LITE:

This is the phone that may sell many units. It features a modest 6.6 inch display, and a less powerful Helio P22. You get 4GB RAM, and different storage variants up to 128GB storage. It still has the same 48MP main lens, but a different set of extra lenses. It also still has the 5000mAh battery, but only 10W charging instead of the 18W fast charging on the normal NOTE 7. We estimate a price point of between KES. 14,000 and KES. 18,000, but this will also definitely change.

If these phones launched with USB type-C and Full HD panels, they would be the ultimate deals to consider. Sadly, Transsion keeps shooting itself in the foot because they miss certain things that are almost essential nowadays. What are your thoughts on the new NOTE series? Will you be getting them?
