Samsung Galaxy A21s Launched with 48MP Camera and 5000mAh battery

Last year I went on and on about how the Galaxy A20 was my favourite budget device. I recommended it to everyone who wanted a 15k to 18k phone. It was perfect: a large battery, an AMOLED display, Faiba4G support, USB Type-C. The Galaxy A20s replaced it soon, and it was still a good deal, but I was eagerly waiting for the Galaxy A21 and the A21s, and here we are finally.

The new Galaxy A21s features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1600) Infinity-O display. It has Samsung’s default design language for 2020. If you love the S20 series design, this is something close to that. Here, however, the bezels are bigger, and the cut-out is on the left of the display. The same design language has been used on the A51 and the A71. I really wished for a full HD display, but I guess 720p will do.

Samsung hasn’t made it clear what processor is being used. But it is an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, coupled with 3GB, 4GB or 6GB RAM and 32/64GB onboard storage.

In the camera department, Samsung has brought a quad-camera setup on the back with a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. For the selfies, you get a single 13MP camera in the hole-punch cutout in the top left corner of the device.

The device will definitely be available in Kenya over the coming next weeks. It will be a big seller, provided Samsung sets a good price for it. We expect a price point of between KES. 15,000 and KES. 18,000. It will be competing with the Redmi NOTE 9s, the TECNO Camon 15 Series, the Infinix NOTE 7 series, and the Huawei Y7p. All of the mentioned devices have 48MP cameras.
