Xiaomi Mi Band 5 Full Specifications and Price in Kenya

The newly launched Mi Band 5 is a significant upgrade to the Mi Band 4 – which I have loved using, and have called the best fitness tracker for everyone. I’ve justified that claim because of things like price, battery life, and function. The Mi Band 4 just works. Also, the data you get from it given it is just $35 is amazing.

Xiaomi is finally updating it, and the Mi Band 5 brings among other stuff new things like:

  • A new charging system – no more removing the band from the wristband to charge it. Now just plug the magnetic charger.
  • New Sensors – Including a Blood Oxygen Sensor, better sleep tracking
  • New sports tracking – Including Yoga, Jump ropes, and more.
  • Remote camera controls
  • And of course a bigger 1.2 inch AMOLED screen.

Of course, the device will be available locally in the coming weeks after the global launch. The official Xiaomi Kenya retailer and other independent sellers of Xiaomi products will definitely rush to bring it in. And given there might be a couple of versions – Pro, Lite, and normal – we could see a wide range of pricing.

However for now, we aren’t sure if these versions will actually exist, or if these are rumors. For the Mi Band 5 that’s been announced in China, when it goes global, the estimated price is set at between $30 and $35. Which means the price will be more or less similar to the Mi Band 4. In Kenya we expect pricing to be between KES. 3800 and KES. 4100.
