The Infinix Zero 8 is now available for purchase in Kenya through online stores, and branded shops countrywide. The device will be retailing at KES. 28,999, and every customer will be enjoying a guarantee policy of up to 25 months. Infinix says the warranty will cover repairs on any malfunctions after purchase.
Though the Zero 8 was first announced a couple of weeks ago, it is only now going official in Kenya. TECNO, the sibling company, a couple of days ago launched a similarly spec’d device – the Camon 16 Premier – and already have it on sale for KES. 28,499. This means one will have to make the decision as to whether XOS is better than HiOS to the extent of paying an extra KES. 500. Or it could be a move by Infinix to make their Zero 8 appear superior to the Camon 16 Premier when they’re infact the same phones.
If you’re torn on which one to buy, Infinix is making this decision sort of easier. The first customers to buy the Infinix Zero 8 will be getting free stuff worth KES. 8,000+. That’s if you get the device through Xpark – the company’s online shopping site.
“Infinix is taking a step to be more premium and able to compete and be the face of this new direction as a fashion-conscious brand. This direction is very much in tandem with our target customers, whose lifestyle can be described as image and fashion-conscious and trendy, with a taste for high end gadgets”, said Mike Zhang, Infinix Kenya Brand Manager.
“Infinix will continue to play its key role in developing devices that meet the market needs as well as technology of the day that endear users to the future lifestyle aspirations”, added Zhang.
As someone who’s been using the device for a couple of days now, I have fallen in love with one thing that I will be raving about a lot in my reviews. That’s the 90Hz display. Before using high-refresh-rate displays, I thought it was just noise marketing. But upon trying the realme 6 (also similarly spec’d) and now the Infinix Zero 8, I am sold. Every device should have a 90Hz display at least. I’ve not noticed any significant battery drain though. We will discuss the fast 33W charger in my review later on.
Infinix has said it is also set to venture into a new product category with the impending launch of Infinix TV, aimed at fulfilling a smart lifestyle living in accordance with modern trends. The TV will also be running on the Android TV OS after Infinix received approval from Google. It will enjoy full features and benefits that come with the system, including the ability to stream from favourite apps, play music and games and cast from any device. We’ve seen the TVs already listed on Xpark, and can’t wait to have them in hand.
