OPPO launches the Reno5 in Kenya with Super-Fast 50W Charging

OPPO has today introduced two new phones to its high-end Reno Series in the Kenyan market with the launch of the OPPO Reno 5 and the OPPO Reno 5F. The prices of the new Reno Series will be as follows:

  • Reno 5 will retail at KES. 41,999
  • Reno 5F will retail at KES. 31,999

Please note, the Reno 5F will start selling on March 22, 2021, and is currently not available. However, the Reno 5 is already starting today, available for pre-order on Jumia, Kilimall and Masoko. From tomorrow till March 1st 2021, in addition to the online stores it will also be available for pre-order through all OPPO branded retail stores. And OPPO has incentives for everyone who pre-orders the new phone.

If you place a pre-order via the e-commerce platforms, you will receive a pair of free Enco W11 wireless earphones, an OPPO backpack and a bluetooth speaker, while those who pre-order from the retail stores will receive a pair of the Enco W11 wireless earphones, an OPPO backpack and a 6-month screen protection plan.

The new Reno 5 features two industry firsts in the form of AI Mixed Portrait – the first double exposure video effect for smartphone – and AI Highlight Video, an industry-leading feature which uses intelligent light detection to combine OPPO’s advanced Ultra Night Video Algorithms and Live HDR Algorithms to significantly enhance video quality in dim and backlit scenes. With these features, users can quickly capture, edit, and share quality videos with ease.

Additionally, the Reno 5, which will be available in two colours, Fantasy Silver and Starry Black, comes with SUPER FAST 50W Flash Charge technology – making it the fastest charging phone in the market. The device can charge from 0% to up to 80% within 31 minutes and fill up to 100% in just 48 minutes.

The Reno 5F which will be available later on features a 48MP main rear camera, an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, 2MP macro camera and 2MP mono camera. The front camera on the other hand is 32MP. The device also comes with the AI Color Portrait Video and Monochrome Video features. It will be available in three colours – Fluid Black, Fantastic Purple and Crystal Silver. There’s a 4310mAh battery which supports 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 technology.
