HUAWEI 4Afrika Smartphone Quick Review and Price in Kenya

HUAWEI 4Afrika like the name is designed for Africa (They also say by Africans). Right now I have no phone and somehow this one has caught my eye.

I haven’t really been a fan of the Windows Phone OS due to issues like few apps among others. But after reading the specs of many WPs (including this phone) I was intrigued. I now think WP is the second best after Android. Sailfish would come in third. Apple is only good with iMacs and iPads not phones.

HUAWEI 4Afrika has a thin stylish design with a textured non-glossy back for a comfortable grip. It has a slightly raised 4.0 inch IPS display with wide viewing angles and decent outdoors legibility so you are able to see well even when the sun is really bright. The WVGA IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is capable of displaying up to 16M colors.

Blue is the Colour.

Also Included is the Zero-Gap touch technology ensuring Multitouch gestures such as pinch to zoom, swipe and pan. There are Ambient light and proximity sensors and the Near Field Communication (NFC) is also supported.

The phone comes with Windows Phone 8 giving you ability to download all kinds of applications (including Angry Birds) from the Store. As it is for Africans, it also includes exclusive apps designed for African interests.

It features a 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM plus an extra 400Mhz Adreno 305 graphics dedicated accelerator.
There’s 4GB of internal memory, expandable with an extra external memory slot capable of handling up to 32GB microSD cards.

On Internet Connectivity, it supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G (with up to 21Mbps download speeds) and Wi-Fi.
It comes with Bluetooth v2.1 which supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP).

The white one looks good

The cameras are amazing. There’s the 5MP main camera with LED flash and HD video recording up to 720p. And then the Front-facing VGA camera optimized for quality video calls.

HUAWEI 4Afrika comes with 1730mAh Li-Po battery and a new power saving technology that promises up to 9 hours 20 mins of talk time on 3G and up to 17.5 days of stand-by time on 3G that is two weeks and three days.

Someone should give me (buy me) this phone or the Nexus 5, or Moto G, or Lumia 1025 or any good phone (am not comparing phones here).
