Tecno shocked me last week when they launched the WinPad 10. A tablet running Windows 8.1. A cool tablet for that matter. One I wouldn’t mind getting, if I could afford one. So I set myself out to find more about Tecno tablets. I discovered the Droipad 7C and then this the DroiPad 8H.
It is an 8 inch tablet with front speakers and runs on Android 5.0. Yep. And it seems like something that’d be brilliant to own.
Design:
If you’ve seen HTC devices, you’d confuse the DroiPad 8H to be one from the HTC family. Did they really make this device? I don’t know. But I like it already. Why isn’t it in Kenya yet?
Specs:
The Processor is a Quad Core 1.3GHz Mediatek. RAM is 1GB. This could be better at 1.5GB or 2GB at least. Internal memory is 16GB and is expandable.
It has a single SIM card slot, though it is still unclear whether or not it supports calling. It must though. How many times do we see people holding 8 inch devices to their ears, as if it is something normal?
Cameras:
The back camera is 5MP while the front camera is 2MP.
Battery:
The device packs a massive 5100mAh battery which I can bet lasts long although Lollipop is said to be a battery hog.
Opinion:
This is a good device. If it launches in Kenya it will be selling at about Ksh. 15,000 which truth be told is an awesome price range for such specs on a tablet.
Tecno surely want to be the biggest in Kenya and they may just do so with all the new devices they are bringing in to the market.
What do you think?
UPDATE: Price in Kenya on launch was Ksh. 16,000. It is a good tablet though slightly heavy on hand.

Nice article. Where can I buy it?
If you visit any TECNO Shop you will find them selling the device.
