I should put this in the simplest of ways for everyone. And I’m going to try.
Apple makes iPhones, iPads, Macbooks etc. They also make the software that runs on this devices.
Google on the other hand makes a lot of stuff, and owns a lot of stuff, including Android Operating system that most people in the world use. But they don’t make any hardware. That is, they let Samsung, Huawei, TECNO, HTC and the rest make phones and use their software. Most people know this. I’m just saying it for the benefit of others who don’t.
Okay so Google releases a new version of Android after certain periods of time. And every time they release a new version, they have a manufacturer make a phone (usually called a Nexus) to go with the new Android OS. This is done to “show other manufacturers how to do it”.
So the manufacturer makes the phone, put their name on it, and also brand it NEXUS at the back. And Google markets the device in the US and wherever else.
But this year when Google announced Android 7 Nougat, there was no Nexus phone to go with it. Meaning the Nexus project is dead.
Interesting enough, Google this time said that the LG V20, which has been called the most underrated phone, would be the first to ship with Android 7.
Last year Google started a new line of their own devices. Tablets to be exact. This was called the Google Pixel C tablet.
Today Google is launching has launched their own phones. And they’ll most likely, from all rumours and leaks be called Google Pixel Phones. are actually called Pixel Phones.
Being that they’ll be are branded Google phones but made by HTC, does this makes them the new Nexus?
They’ll be two: small and big screen, Pixel and Pixel XL- Many people say they look so much like the iPhone

- 8MP front camera

Availability of the devices is yet to be known. They are available right now in the US and you can pre-order already. They’ll be available in India from the 13th.
We can conclude from the Nexus program, that you’ll have to put a lot more effort if you’re in Kenya and you want either of the two devices.
Google also announced Daydream VR and Google Home.
