Yesterday, TECNO officially launched the new Phantom 8 in Kenya. And they announced the device will be retailing at Ksh. 37,000.
The Phantom 8 is TECNO’s 2017/18 flagship and is supposed to be their best to date. The specs show that TECNO have tried their best to make the device really appealing. The specs of the device can be found down below.
A few choices by TECNO are however questionable. Like why have a plastic back? Why not glass? Why not metal? Why not have two devices: 5.5 and 6 inch? Why 5.7 inches? Why not have the Helio X30 processor? Why the cheaper Helio P25? Why not have a bigger 4000mAh battery? Why not have Android 8 Oreo? Why not have 128GB storage like on the Infinix Zero 5 Pro which is even cheaper?
But TECNO has their plan, and when I receive a review unit, I’ll judge the device better. My full review of the device will cover all questions you may have.
Where to get the Phantom 8:
- Jumia Kenya: With this deal, the phone costs Ksh. 34,000. But you get a free TECNO gift pack, an included TELKOM Kenya Sim card, and 2.5GB of free internet. Grab the deal here.
- PhonePlaceKenya: This appears to be the best deal in terms of price. You can pick up the device at Ksh. 32,000. Check them out here.
- TECNO Branded shops: The phone should already be available in branded shops countrywide. But note that prices may vary in such shops.
- Safaricom shops: Yes, this will definitely be a single-SIM variant. Pricing will be a little steep but I doubt it’ll be higher than the stated 37k at launch.
