Samsung’s first Android Go Smartphone is now available in Kenya and will be on sale countrywide through Samsung or Safaricom Shops. The recommended retail price is Ksh. 10,499.

Android Go is Google’s program to ensure users with devices with 1GB RAM or less get a good experience when using Android. As such on Android Go you’ll find lite apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go, Facebook Lite, and many others that don’t require a lot of resources to run.

We’ve seen many companies already launching Android Go smartphones from Safaricom’s ultra-cheap Neon Kicka 4 to TECNO’s Spark 2, and the Nokia 2.1. It is interesting to see Samsung join the party.
