OPPO have confirmed that they will be bringing the F11 to Kenya in the coming days. This is their successor to the OPPO F9 that was launched back in November 2018. And this is a big smartphone obviously; from the pop-up selfie camera to the huge 48MP shooter at the back. It will definitely cause a buzz when launched.
The company is following a half-year cycle of smartphone releases, so it unveils their F and R series every six months. Their premium F-series are known to pack both their high end features like VOOC charging, and the pop-up selfie camera, but be sort of in the upper midrange segment of pricing.
The F11 is being touted as a “Portrait Master” and I cannot wait to see what sort of portrait shots it takes. I would expect pretty amazing pics given the large 48MP main sensor and the 5MP depth sensor. Remember the 48MP sensor takes 12MP pics thanks to a technology called pixel binning.
That the device comes with Micro-USB at its price range is pretty weird. I don’t understand why OPPO insists on this technology when in 2019 USB type-C is everything. But the 20W fast charging is pretty sweet nonetheless. I like that the device is coming with a 12nm processor even if it is a Mediatek. It means really great battery life.
I like the overall look and design of the device, and I can’t wait to see what people opt to pick for around 30k in Kenya between devices like the Pocophone, the Infinix Zero 6, the Samsung Galaxy A50 and now the F11. Design has a big influence in choice for a smartphone, and with that pop-up selfie, I’m sure many people will be swoon easily. What are your thoughts?
