The new Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 went on sale countrywide on Saturday, 6th June after being available for pre-order for close to a week since official announcement. You can now find it in most mobile phone retailer shops across the country, and also in Huawei branded shops.
I’ve had the phone since Huawei announced it officially 11 days ago, and you can watch my full thoughts on the phone in the video above. I have shared my thoughts on it’s cameras, performance, battery life, and I have also yapped about the good display.
Huawei says they managed to score over 1000 pre-orders during the pre-order period, which is no mean feat considering the bad news Huawei has had since the American ban. As it seems, many Kenyans have not shied away from Huawei devices.
The new phone still has all Google services, and necessary Google apps installed. It still has Facebook pre-installed, and Huawei continues to assure customers that the devices will continue to receive updates.
Recently, we saw Donald Trump seemingly relax the ban, but the situation is still unclear. Though it looks like whole thing will soon be reversed, and we’ll be back to normal.
