The OPPO Reno2 F is now available in the Kenyan market. It’s recommended retail price is KES. 39,999 and for that price you’re getting a 6.5 inch AMOLED display with an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, 4 rear cameras, a pop-up selfie camera, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, all powered by a Mediatek Helio P70 and a 4000mAh battery that supports 20W fast charging.
The 4 cameras at the back include a 48MP f/1.7 main camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP black and white dedicated sensor, and an extra 2MP depth sensor. That’s a versatile setup, though lacking of a zoom lens.
The selfie camera is a 16MP f/2.0 lens which is motorized to ensure the 6.5 AMOLED display has no notch and tiny bezels. The display is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protected.
The phone comes running Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1 skin. Hopefully, since it was announced last month, and since it is an expensive device, it will receive Android 10. This however isn’t assured given the company’s reputation with Android updates. Which is a major thing to consider given its price point. I personally would want the latest version of Android on a device this pricey.
The Helio P70 processor is also something to think about if planning to get this device. The chipset is compared to the Snapdragon 660. Which means though it can perform really well, it isn’t a very top-tier processor. If you’re not someone who cares about processors, then this shouldn’t be an issue. But if you want the best for what you’re paying for, I’m sure you’re seeing this as a setback.
Yes, this time there’s a USB type-C port if that has been your concern with other OPPO phones announced this year. You’re also getting the 20W fast charger inside the box.
What are your thoughts on the new Reno2 F? Will you be getting it?

Too expensive! That’s all I can say. As a xiaomi user, I think oppo devices are laughable at best. With that money, you can get the mi9T with the Superior 710 and with a little more you can get the pro.and software, MIUI is superior, I almost feel sorry for anyone buying this phone.
