LG is revamping their K-Series with a new 2020 line up consisting of weirdly named phones:
- LG K61
- LG K51S
- LG K41S
Good luck remembering those names. Haha. But not to worry, since if you’re in Africa LG won’t be concerned about selling these to you. LG is like that with their phones. In an official statement, the company has said the new devices are only scheduled to be available in the Americas, and select markets in Europe and Asia. Well, there goes competing with Samsung Galaxy A-Series which have done absolutely well in Africa.
LG says the K-Series 2020 are “all designed to deliver a first-class user experience with upgraded cameras, multimedia functions and improved all-around performance without breaking the bank.” The company has however not revealed the prices of these devices.
All the phones feature quad camera setups. The K61 and the K51S have punch-hole displays which house their selfie cameras. LG boasts of the devices’ reduced bezels. They all have Bluetooth 5.0, DTS:X 3D Surround Sound support, expandable MicroSD card slots, dedicated Google Assistant Buttons, Rear Fingerprint scanners, and NFC Support.
K61:
The K61 has a 6.5-inch 19.5:9 FHD+ display. It is the best spec’d of the series. It is powered by an octa-core processor running at 2.3GHz, 4GB of RAM 64GB/128GB storage and a 4000mAh battery that charges via USB-C. The quad camera setup at the back consists of a 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle, 2MP Macro lens, and 5MP depth sensor. It’ll be avaialble in three colors: Titanium, White and Blue.
K51S:
The K51S features a slightly narrower 6.5-inch 20:9 HD+ FullVision Display. It is powered by an octa-core chip, has 3GB RAM, and 64GB onboard storage, with a 4000mAh battery. The 4 rear cameras include a 32MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultra-wide angle sensor, 2MP Macro, and 2MP depth sensor. Color options are: Titanium, Pink and Blue
K41S:
LG K41S features a 6.5-inch 20:9 HD+ FullVision Display. You get 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The device is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core processor with a 4000mAh battery. At the back there’s a 13MP standard lens, a 5MP ultra-wide, a 2MP Macro lens, and an extra 2MP depth camera. The selfie shooter is 8MP.
Looks like if you want the devices you’ll have to import them, hoping the bands will work well here.

Need the price of LG K61
Would have been good to consider African Market at least in select countries in west africa, east africa and to the South. Otherwise i like their strategy to deal with the demand in the smartphone market. LG phones are usually great phones known for their amazing camera quality, good performance and sound experience. As long as the phones get regular updates and feature a good enough chipset I’d say why not go for them
