LG announces K-Series 2020 smartphones to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy A-Series

LG is revamping their K-Series with a new 2020 line up consisting of weirdly named phones:

  • LG K61
  • LG K51S
  • LG K41S

Good luck remembering those names. Haha. But not to worry, since if you’re in Africa LG won’t be concerned about selling these to you. LG is like that with their phones. In an official statement, the company has said the new devices are only scheduled to be available in the Americas, and select markets in Europe and Asia. Well, there goes competing with Samsung Galaxy A-Series which have done absolutely well in Africa.

LG says the K-Series 2020 are “all designed to deliver a first-class user experience with upgraded cameras, multimedia functions and improved all-around performance without breaking the bank.” The company has however not revealed the prices of these devices.

All the phones feature quad camera setups. The K61 and the K51S have punch-hole displays which house their selfie cameras. LG boasts of the devices’ reduced bezels. They all have Bluetooth 5.0, DTS:X 3D Surround Sound support, expandable MicroSD card slots, dedicated Google Assistant Buttons, Rear Fingerprint scanners, and NFC Support.

  1. Would have been good to consider African Market at least in select countries in west africa, east africa and to the South. Otherwise i like their strategy to deal with the demand in the smartphone market. LG phones are usually great phones known for their amazing camera quality, good performance and sound experience. As long as the phones get regular updates and feature a good enough chipset I’d say why not go for them
