Samsung Galaxy A21 to feature 4 rear cameras, and a punch-hole display

Samsung’s full 2020 lineup for their now popular A-series is slowly taking shape. We’ve already seen the Galaxy A51 and the Galaxy A71 in the Kenyan market. Last week, the Galaxy A11 leaked. We’ve heard rumours of the A51 and A71 having 5G variants announced sometime in the course of the year. There’s already rumours of the Galaxy A41. And now the Galaxy A21 has leaked revealing a new design, which is a welcome update to last year’s Galaxy A20, a phone I absolutely loved.

Like the A11, the A21 will have a punch-hole display. The surrounding bezels look to be quite thick, but that isn’t something one can nitpick on a device that will cost less than $200.

From the leaks, seems like the device will keep the USB Type-C port, its AMOLED display, its rear fingerprint scanner, and its 4000mAh battery. It also seems like the plastic finish from its predecessor will be carried forward.

The new things on the Galaxy A21 will be:

  1. The quad-camera setup whose specs are yet to be revealed. I think there’ll be the main sensor, an ultrawide sensor, a telephoto sensor, and either a ToF camera or a useless macro sensor.
  2. 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, up from 3/32 on the Galaxy A20.
  3. An Exynos 7904 chip which is slightly better than the Exynos 7884 on last year’s phone.
  4. A new selfie camera housed in the punch-hole on the display.

I hope the A21 will impress me just as much as the A20 did. I wonder what pricing Samsung will go with for it in the Kenyan market. I am waiting to see how it’ll compare to the Redmi NOTE 9 from Xiaomi which I believe will be another exciting device.
