Huawei Mobile Kenya has announced the launch of their latest drive to promote its new devices. For the next one week, in this pre-order phase, the Huawei Y8p and Y6p are going to be up for grabs with free gift hampers: The prices are as below:

• Huawei Y6p at KES. 14,999 and get FREE gift hampers worth KES. 3299

These are pretty competitive prices for the new devices. And will surely upset competitors because the specs on these devices are pretty compelling. The Y8p could currently be the cheapest device with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. Cameras:

Huawei says if you are someone who uses their smartphone frequently for photography on the go, then you might want to opt for the HUAWEI Y8p. It packs a Triple Camera setup at the back consisting of a 48MP main camera, 8MP Ultra-Wide angle camera and a 2MP Bokeh camera. The company also boasts about the device supporting AIS Super Night Photography, which they say means that with a single tap, you can get a well-lit photo even in low light situations. Huawei’s AI can also recognize up to 22 scenes. At the front, there’s a 16MP AI Selfie camera which the company says not only promises beautiful selfies but also ensures stunning portrait effects, support for low-light selfies and even backlit HDR selfies.

The HUAWEI Y6p also packs a good camera setup, with a 13MP Triple camera setup consisting of a 13MP main camera, 5MP wide camera and a 2MP Bokeh camera. This setup also works quite well for lighter photography use, which is also complemented by the 8MP Selfie Camera upfront.

Battery:

If you are someone who does a lot more with their smartphone on a daily basis, then Huawei believes you are going to love the HUAWEI Y6p with its massive 5000 mAh battery that they say will last you 3 days on a single charge. If you prefer the Y8p, then the 4000mAh battery will also be enough. The Huawei Y6p can in some cases if need be, act as a power bank to charge up other devices.

Performance:

The company believes that both the HUAWEI Y8p and the HUAWEI Y6p are capable of providing solid performance, backed with ample amounts of storage. The HUAWEI Y8p comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and uses the Kirin 710F processor with EMUI 10.1 skin atop Android 10. If you’re a gamer, the devices GPU Turbo feature will help deliver a good experience when playing heavy titles.

The Y6p, on the other hand, comes with 3GB of RAM with 64GB of storage along with the MTK Helio P22 chipset and EMUI 10.1.

With the lack of Google Services, both phones come with HUAWEI AppGallery pre-installed. This is Huawei’s official app marketplace offering a wide range of global and local apps. In addition to apps, users can also enjoy a rich library of quality entertainment media on HUAWEI Video, HUAWEI Music and HUAWEI Reader, which the company says is frequently updated with new content from top providers.
