The OPPO Reno5 is very impressive. In the video review above I explain the things I’ve really liked about the device. These are; the display, the build quality, the specs, the battery, the fast charging, and the incredible cameras. I also talk about the one thing I don’t like about the phone: the price. I feel like the price is quite steep for many, but that doesn’t take away from the greatness of the device. And thankfully, OPPO will be bringing to the market the OPPO Reno 5F which will start at a more affordable price point. So if 42k is too steep, consider that new device once it is available in the market.
Very rarely do I find phones with really good cameras to the extent it becomes a talking point. Most times, the cameras that come with phones are just normal, without much to write about. With the OPPO Reno5, things are very different. All the lenses on this phone are great. And I’ve loved using them. They have placed emphasis on the AI Mixed Portrait feature, which is the first double exposure video effect for smartphones that combines a portrait video onto a background video. The other feature is the AI Highlight Video, which although has been available in the market, uses intelligent light detection to combine OPPO’s advanced Ultra Night Video Algorithms and Live HDR Algorithms to significantly enhance video quality in dim and backlit scenes. As you will see in the video above, the cameras are really good even when compared to the best from Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy S21. I especially love video stabilisation.

One thing for you that will forever change once you use the OPPO Reno5 is charging. The 65W included charger is great! It is the fastest something has ever charged in my house. And it is a total life changer. I don’t want anything else. I wrote a whole post about super-charging here.
As you will see in the video the display, the performance, and the overall design of the device is outstanding. I can say this is thanks to the company constantly working to better what it already has had for a while. This phone is only shy of being called a flagship killer because of the processor, and perhaps the lack of an official IP Rating.
Watch the video, and tell me your thoughts on the device. Here are the full specifications:
