HMD Global has today announced the availability of the Nokia 1.4 in the Kenyan market. The device will be retailing for KES. 12,500 and for that amount you’ll be getting 2GB RAM, with 32GB storage. Additionally, HMD Global says you’ll be getting a screen protector and back phone cover as part of the accessories in the box.
The company says the new Nokia 1.4 boasts an impressive 6.51-inch screen, which’s their largest yet on the 1-series of Nokia devices. They say the device is a phone engineered and built in the moment.
Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager Kenya & East Africa, HMD Global said, “We wanted to create a reliable and enjoyable experience that truly benefits all family members without adding to any household financial pressures. Be it managing work emails, paying bills or keeping the kids busy with online extracurricular activities, our designers addressed the fact that millions of families around the world are spending more time at home. In response, we increased the size of the screen on the Nokia 1.4 to the maximum capacity so parents, caregivers and children can stay connected and productive. To further enhance the photography experience – on top of the improvements already brought to you by Google’s AI on the Camera Go app, we also added a macro camera to capture epic close-ups at home or outdoors. All powered by Qualcomm, a trusted industry leader, and encased in a tough, mishap-proof body with our signature two-day battery life.”
According to HMD, the dual-camera setup, which includes an 8MP main lens and a 2MP macro lens, coupled with the Camera Go app by Google helps you take high-quality photos at any time, even under low light conditions.
On why they chose to have a macro-lens, the company says the 2MP lens will entertain the whole family as kids get up close and personal with slugs, bugs, and flowers while exploring the great outdoors and come in handy at home when you need to zoom in on the fine print on the latest utility bill.
Staying true to Nokia smartphone values, the Nokia 1.4 is ready for Android 11 (Go edition) and beyond. HMD says it offers a faster and more secure way of doing things and keeps the company’s promise of at least three years of security updates.
