Infinix has skipped what would have been the NOTE 9 Series straight to the NOTE 10 Series. The new series replaces the NOTE 8 Series devices which were really good. You should check out my review of the Infinix NOTE 8.
With the new NOTE 10 devices, the company is sticking with the huge form factor that’s the signature of these devices. The company is also bringing in new exciting colours, what looks like a refined build, and exciting specifications including 90Hz displays, powerful processors, and fast charging.
In my review, I said with the NOTE 8 Series Infinix was moving from devices of the past which cut off on key things like USB type-C and looked boring. From the specs of the new NOTE 10 Series, I can say the company is clearing cementing that move. We now have a PRO version with a Full HD panel, 33W fast charging, plus support for NFC.
Infinix NOTE 10 (Normal):
The Full HD display is the most exciting feature for me, and for everyone who loves huge displays. Imagine a full HD 6.95-inch display refreshing at 90Hz with a 180Hz touch-sampling rate. If the colour accuracy is good, and the brightness is great, this is a great panel for watching movies, for reading, and most especially for gaming. And all that in a package that will be affordable: between KES. 16,500 to KES. 18,500.
There’s 4GB or 6GB RAM, and 64GB or 128GB storage. The details on the type of storage used haven’t been shared. I think they’re still using eMMC, but it would be so good to see UFS storage, to ensure the phone is snappier.
There’s a 48MP main camera on this phone. The extra lenses are useless to be honest, so don’t count on them fro anything. At the front, there’s a 16MP camera.
The phone is powered by a Helio G85 processor, and runs Android 11. There’s a 5000mAh battery supporting 18W fast charging over USB Type-C. I hope the company has fixed the issue I had with the NOTE 8 that restricted it from charging using other Type-C cables. Full specs here.
Infinix NOTE 10 PRO:
For me, this is the exciting device in the new series. Obviously. That’s because the device is brining features we’ve seen in the Zero 8 series, but at a much reduced price. Which makes me wonder what will come with the upcoming Infinix Zero 10 Series.
The phone features the same display as the NOTE 10 above. Which is great. And makes both devices worthy of being in one series. Infinix decided the things that go to the PRO version are different cameras, a more powerful processor, more RAM and Storage, and faster charging.
There’s a 64MP main camera, plus an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. At the front there’s a 16MP selfie shooter. There’s up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. And the 5000mAh battery supports 33W fast charging. Full specs here.
