TECNO has recently introduced the latest in its camera-focused series of smartphones. These are the Camon 18 Series of devices which include the Camon 18, the Camon 18P and the Camon 18 Premier. They’re all very different devices, but as you go up the series you get to notice a couple of similarities, and a couple of decisions that make each quite a good device to get.
The first major difference between the three devices is obviously with pricing:
- Camon 18 Premier is set at KES 39,999 thanks to its gimbal camera, and its build.
- Camon 18P is set at KES 27,699 and uses the same processor and RAM from the Premier
- Camon 18 is set at KES 22,199 and uses a whole differnt processor, but keeps the camera and battery from the Camon 18P.
Displays:
The Camon 18 premier is the only device with an AMOLED Panel. The Camon 18P and Camon 18 have IPS LCD screens. However, the Camon 18 Premier and Camon 18P have 120Hz refresh rates, while the baseline Camon 18 has a 90Hz panel. All have FHD+ resolutions.
Cameras:
The Camon 18 Premier has the highest-end cameras. It features a 32MP selfie camera. At the back you get a 64MP main camera, a 12MP Stabilised Gimbal Camera and an 8MP Periscope 5X Lens that can achieve 60X hybrid zoom.
The Camon 18P on the other hand has a 48MP main camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 13MP 50mm portrait camera specifically for sharp portrait photos.
The Camon 18 uses the same 48MP camera from the Camon 18P but has a 2MP depth and 2MP macro camera as the extra lenses.
Both the Camon 18P and Camon 18 have the same 16MP selfie camera.
Processors:
The Camon 18 Premier and the Camon 18P have the same Helio G96 Processor. It is a really good and powerful piece that will offer smooth gaming and handling of all tasks.
The Camon 18, on the other hand, features a Helio G88 processor which is also quite good and will handle most tasks pretty well.
Battery and Fast Charging:
Both the Camon 18 Premier and the Camon 18P support 33W fast charging. Which is pretty sweet. However the Camon 18 Premier has a 4750mAh battery while the Camon 18P has a 5000mAh battery.
Meanwhile the Camon 18 has a 5000mAh battery which supports 18W fast charging.
