Samsung has unveiled the 2022 line up of consumer electronics available for the East African market. The company says the new lineup includes the 2022 NEO QLED TV which comes with an eco-friendly Solar Cell Remote that is equipped with a solar panel at the back completely moving away from traditional disposable batteries.
The 2022 Neo QLED 8K TV which was the highlight of the event, has been upgraded to bring a large screen experience. There’s a new Neural Quantum Processor 8K which has 20 independent neural AI networks. Each of them analyse the contents characteristics and picture quality for optimal viewing, regardless of the source.
The Neural Quantum Processor 8K also scans the screen and maximizes contrast with the background by enhancing the object while keeping the background unprocessed. It works similarly to the way human eyes perceive images in real life so the object on screen stands out against the background.
“With this new lineup, Samsung aims to redefine the role of consumer electronics by creating beautifully designed, cutting-edge technology that offers not only functionality but aesthetics as well. This year’s Neo QLED TV for example has features that take the screen to new heights by providing one central hub to play, connect, work and more” said Samsung Managing Director Mr. TS Lee.
The event was an opportunity for Samsung to educate customers on the products new features, how to maximize their use as well as how to integrate them with other home appliances. This was done through an elaborate display where the attendees experienced different product placement in different home settings.
Samsung’s Head of Consumer Electronics Division Mr. Sam Odhiambo who was also present at the event further noted, “The Samsung TV has been voted the world’s best TV for 16 years now and this is something that we take pride in. There is a great deal of time and investment that goes into the research and development for each unit that we deliver and the 2022 NEO QLED is not any different. I can assure you that this is television that every Kenyan would want in their homes”
The other highlight of the showcase was the Freestyle, a smart portable screen and ambient lighting device all rolled into one. The Freestyle weighs only 700 grams allowing users to change any space into a screen with ease. Unlike conventional, boxy projectors, The Freestyle’s versatile cradle allows rotation of up to 180 degrees, enabling users to show high-quality video anywhere, including tables, floors, walls or even ceilings with no separate screen required. The device is now available in the Kenyan market and is retailing at Kshs. 159,995/-
The 2022 Samsung Frame TV was also showcased at the event with the highlight being its ability to turn into a piece of wall art when off. In addition to this, Samsung has invested in matte, anti-glare, anti-reflection, and anti-fingerprint technology in the 2022 Frame TV that allows for a better viewing experience with different lighting scenarios making the TV look even more realistic as a piece of art.
