HMD Global is still going strong with the Nokia branded devices. They have now unveiled four new devices – 3 smartphones and a tablet adding to their X, G, C and T-series. They’ve also unveiled the Nokia Portable Speaker 2 and the Clarity Earbuds 2 Pro.
The company says the lineup of devices will be coming to Kenya in Q4 – with no specific dates given. HMD says the new devices are their most eco-friendly smartphones yet with the Nokia X30 5G being made with 100% recycled aluminium and 65% recycled plastic.
The Nokia X30 5G comes with a 50MP PureView camera which has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and AI to capture stunning ultra-wide angle and vibrant night time shots. The camera is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass with DX+ that lets 98% of all light reach the large sensor and content is brought to life on the 6.43” PureDisplay with bright colors and smooth viewing.
The Nokia G60 5G on the other hand brings HMD’s 3-3-3 promise: 3 years of system updates, three years of security updates, and 3 years extended warranty. It features a 6.58” FHD+ 120Hz display for super-smooth scrolling and a 50MP AI triple camera.
The Nokia C31 brings an improved 6.7” HD+ display, with a claim of three-day battery life with AI-powered battery saving features. It comes running Android 12, has a set of triple rear cameras powered by Google, and improved protection with IP52 dust and moisture resistance. You’re guaranteed two years of regular security updates all at an ultra-affordable price point.
The Nokia T2 is a new tablet offering from Nokia promising two years of Android upgrades, three years of monthly security updates, and fan requested features from the first tablet including HD video streaming, voice calling, and NFC payments.
Florian Seiche, CEO, HMD Global said, “At HMD Global, home of Nokia phones, we want people to keep their phones for longer and this can be seen across three areas. We have introduced Circular, a truly circular subscription model that rewards people who extend the lifecycle of their phones. We build our devices with more recycled materials and continue to boost our longevity heritage with software and security updates. And we are working hard to live this approach as a company, with our business-wide sustainability pledges that shows our commitment to continue to work harder to protect tomorrow.”
