African Startup Funding: A Year of Recovery

Despite a decline in startup funding in recent years, the ecosystem is showing signs of recovery. Fintech ventures dominated in 2024, accounting for nearly half of all funding, according to Africa: The Big Deal. Companies like Moniepoint, which raised $110 million in a Series C round and achieved unicorn status, exemplify this growth. The Africa Tech Summit aims to build on this momentum by connecting investors with high-potential startups.

A Platform for Innovation and Collaboration

Andrew Fassnidge, Director of Africa Tech Summit, emphasized the importance of the event: "The ATS Investment Showcase continues to highlight and connect investment-ready tech ventures with leading VCs and support them in a challenging funding environment."

With support from industry leaders like Raenest, Moniepoint, Amazon Web Services, IFC, Andela, and many others, Africa Tech Summit Nairobi 2025 promises to be a cornerstone event for the continent’s tech community.
