12th Sankalp Africa Summit: Billions in Investment, Innovation & Startup Growth to be Unlocked in Nairobi
Nairobi to Welcome 1,500+ Investors & Entrepreneurs for Africa’s Largest Impact Investment Summit
Nairobi is set to host the 12th Sankalp Africa Summit on February 27-28, 2025, bringing together over 1,500 global leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs. The event will focus on investment, innovation, and scaling African startups, with over 400 startups gaining access to financing, mentorship, and global markets.
The Sankalp Africa Summit, organized by Intellecap, part of the Aavishkaar Group, aims to unlock millions of dollars in funding through live deal rooms, pitching sessions, and investor matchmaking. Since its inception in 2009, Sankalp has built one of the world’s largest platforms for impact entrepreneurship, connecting over 2,780 startups with 1,000+ investors, and helping raise over $800 million in funding.
Driving Africa’s Investment & Innovation Ecosystem
Kenya remains a regional leader in startup investment, having secured $1.2 billion in venture capital in 2023. As Africa’s digital economy is projected to reach $180 billion by 2025, discussions will focus on mobilizing capital, expanding markets, and shaping policy frameworks to drive economic transformation.
Despite $6.5 billion in venture capital investments in Africa in 2022, funding remains concentrated in select industries. The summit seeks to bridge these gaps, ensuring more equitable capital distribution across agriculture, healthcare, fintech, and climate resilience.
Key Themes of the 2025 Summit
The event will emphasize:
- Climate Resilience & Clean Energy – Promoting sustainable and climate-smart business models.
- Food Security & Agriculture – Enhancing innovation and funding in agritech solutions.
- Financial Inclusion & Gender Equity – Expanding access to capital for women and youth-led enterprises.
According to Vikas Bali, CEO of Intellecap, “The Sankalp Africa Summit aims to be the largest gathering of impact enterprises in Africa, fostering partnerships that enable businesses to scale globally. It is a testament to our shared commitment to creating an enabling entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
Karnika Yadav, Partner and Director at Intellecap, added, “This summit will highlight Africa’s innovators, drive transformative growth, and build a movement for capital access, ensuring sustainable and scalable solutions for a brighter, greener future.”
