Infinix has officially announced that its NOTE 40 Series smartphones will begin receiving the Android 15 and XOS 15 upgrade starting in the second quarter of 2025. The update rollout will be gradual and apply to a wide range of devices within the NOTE 40 family, positioning Infinix among the few budget-friendly brands offering long-term software support.
According to the update poster shared by Infinix, the following models are confirmed to receive the upgrade:
- NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G
- NOTE 40 Pro 5G
- NOTE 40 Pro
- NOTE 40 5G
- NOTE 40
- NOTE 40S
The company states that “specific upgrade times for each model will be announced later,” and that a few countries may not be eligible for the upgrade due to regional restrictions or compliance factors.
The image accompanying the announcement showcases several models from the NOTE 40 lineup, reinforcing Infinix’s commitment to both design and performance. Notably, the NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G has garnered attention for its premium finish and performance-centric features, and now it joins the list of devices moving toward Android 15.
Android 15 is expected to bring performance refinements, better battery efficiency, improved app privacy controls, and new AI enhancements. XOS 15—Infinix’s custom skin—will likely introduce its own features, including enhanced smart assistant capabilities, productivity tools, and UI upgrades.
The announcement also signals a shift in Infinix’s software update strategy, aligning more closely with expectations from users demanding long-term support. With more brands being called out for poor software longevity, Infinix appears to be responding to the growing demand for better after-sales support and modern Android experiences.
