Taiwan has launched the Go Healthy with Taiwan 2025 campaign in East Africa, aiming to address regional wellness challenges through technology-driven solutions and cross-border collaboration. The initiative calls on East African institutions, startups, and SMEs to propose ways to adapt Taiwanese health tech to local needs in fitness, cycling, and smart healthcare.
Organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and led by Taiwan’s International Trade Administration (TITA), the campaign is part of a broader effort to showcase Taiwan’s health innovation capabilities globally while empowering local communities.
Funding and Opportunities for Winners
Three winning proposals will each receive US$30,000, while the top six teams will be flown to Taiwan for an exclusive Go Healthy Tour. This curated experience will feature site visits, product demonstrations, and networking sessions with leading Taiwanese companies in the health and wellness sector.
“The ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan’ initiative reflects our shared commitment to advancing health and wellness in East Africa through innovation, collaboration, and quality. By bringing together Taiwan’s world-class health technologies and local expertise, we aim to create solutions that not only meet today’s needs but also inspire a healthier future for communities across the region.” said Michael Lin, Director, Taiwan Trade Centre, Nairobi.
Taiwan’s Strength in Wellness Innovation
The campaign builds on Taiwan’s leadership in three core sectors:
1. Fitness and Sports Technology
From AI-enabled training systems to connected workout equipment, Taiwan’s innovations are designed to improve both personal health and public wellness outcomes.
2. Cycling
Renowned as a global hub for high-performance bicycle manufacturing and urban cycling infrastructure, Taiwan promotes cycling as a sustainable, health-positive mode of transport.
3. Smart Healthcare
Taiwan’s Medtech industry offers advanced diagnostic platforms, telemedicine solutions, and wearable technologies. For example, Acer’s wearable health monitors have already been adopted by top hospitals worldwide, showcasing how Taiwanese tech can transform preventive care and treatment delivery.
Easy Participation
Submissions are made via the SurveyCake platform, with comprehensive guidelines and case studies available on the official campaign website. The deadline for proposals is August 14, 2025.
