Isuzu East Africa (Isuzu EA) has announced the start of construction for a new Ksh 3.1 billion state-of-the-art Parts Distribution Centre (PDC) in Lukenya, along Mombasa Road.

The project marks a significant investment in Kenya’s automotive sector, aimed at streamlining spare parts logistics and improving access to genuine Isuzu parts for dealers, stockists, mechanics, and vehicle owners across the region.

Enhancing After-Sales Support

According to Isuzu EA Managing Director Rita Kavashe, the new facility is a key milestone in the company’s long-term strategy to enhance aftersales services.

“Our goal is to make genuine parts easily accessible through local outlets, ensuring customers benefit from reliable and cost-effective vehicle maintenance,” Kavashe said.

Isuzu EA notes that improper vehicle maintenance and counterfeit parts lead to higher ownership costs, including cancelled business contracts, delayed loan repayments, and repeated repairs. By centralising parts distribution and working with trained technicians using advanced tools and diagnostic equipment, the PDC will help standardise professional servicing across the region.

Strategic Role in Growth Plans

The Lukenya facility forms part of Isuzu EA’s five-year Medium Term Plan (2026–2030), under which the company will transition into a Commercial Mobility Solutions Company. This shift will see the brand move beyond vehicle assembly into delivering smart, connected transport ecosystems.

The new PDC will also reinforce the company’s commitment to Kenya’s industrial growth, supporting local enterprise development and creating a more efficient automotive supply chain.

A Milestone Ahead of 50th Anniversary

The groundbreaking comes just weeks before Isuzu EA’s 50th anniversary in September 2025, celebrating five decades of local assembly, customer partnerships, and market leadership.

Construction of the PDC is expected to be completed by November 2026. Once operational, it will act as a central hub for Isuzu’s aftersales operations, boosting service delivery both in Kenya and across East Africa.
