Global insurtech bolttech has entered the Kenyan market through a partnership with LOOP, the fintech subsidiary of NCBA Group. The two companies will roll out LOOP FLEX in October, a transparent and convenient Buy Now Pay Later programme that pairs device financing with mandatory, comprehensive protection. The goal is to make it easier and more affordable for customers to own the devices they rely on, while ensuring those devices are fully protected throughout their lifecycle.

LOOP FLEX is embedded directly in the LOOP customer journey. Customers can spread the cost of a new device, and at the same time receive protection that covers theft, accidental and liquid damage, mechanical breakdown, and extended warranty. All repairs are handled at certified service centres using genuine parts, ensuring device quality and longevity.

What the partners say

Eric Muriuki, CEO, LOOP DFS, welcomed bolttech to Kenya and highlighted the alignment with LOOP’s digital mission. “This partnership enables us to empower our customers with access to the devices they need through transparent and affordable financing powered by LOOP FLEX, as well as give them the peace of mind that comes with comprehensive protection.” He added that it is another step toward delivering innovative, accessible, and digitally driven financial solutions that let customers live and work with confidence.

Stephan Tan, CEO EMEA and Group Chief Investment Officer at bolttech, said Kenya is one of Africa’s most dynamic digital economies. “Together, we are embedding protection into the device ownership journey, enabling more people to afford and safeguard the technology they rely on every day.”

What LOOP FLEX covers

Theft protection

Customers receive a gift voucher toward a new device based on the remaining balance after 30 days of cover. There is a 10 percent deductible, and claims must be supported by a police report filed within 48 hours.

Accidental and liquid damage

One-time repair covers scenarios such as screen, case, battery cracks, internal component issues, and water damage. There is no deductible for repairs.

Certified repairs and genuine parts

All fixes are performed at certified service centres using genuine parts, helping preserve device quality and longevity.

Repair limits and process

The one-time repair service covers repairs up to the original device value. Customers can file and track claims easily through bolttech’s digital channels, making the experience straightforward and transparent.

Why embedded protection matters

By bundling financing and protection into one flow, LOOP FLEX removes friction from device ownership. Customers avoid the complexity of shopping for separate insurance, and they gain clarity on what is covered from day one. Certified repairs with genuine parts reduce the risk of poor-quality fixes, while the digital claims process streamlines what is often the most painful part of protection products.
