Google is rolling out new shopping-related updates to Gmail, introducing a dedicated Purchases view and improvements to the Promotions tab.
The Purchases view consolidates all order and delivery emails into one place, giving users a clearer overview of upcoming package arrivals. Items scheduled to arrive within 24 hours will continue appearing at the top of the primary inbox and within purchase summary cards. The new interface is available starting today on mobile and web for users with personal Gmail accounts, though the global rollout may take time.

The Promotions tab is also being updated with a new option to sort emails by “most relevant,” surfacing offers from brands users interact with the most. The feature will include nudges that highlight time-sensitive deals to help users avoid missing discounts. For those who prefer the current setup, Gmail will continue to allow sorting by “most recent” instead.
The Promotions tab update will begin rolling out in the coming weeks, also limited to personal Gmail accounts on mobile.
The changes arrive ahead of the back-to-school and holiday shopping seasons, as Google looks to make Gmail more useful for managing purchases and finding timely deals.
