Visa, the official payment partner for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, is giving its cardholders first access to tickets ahead of the general public. The company announced two exclusive pre-sale windows for the tournament, which kicks off this December.
It’s a classic perk for a major sports sponsor: Visa gets its branding all over Africa’s biggest football tournament, and in return, its customers get to buy tickets before they’re gone. The first pre-sale phase for Visa cardholders will run from September 25th to September 27th. A second pre-sale window will open a month later, from October 21st to October 23rd.
According to the announcement, the general public sale begins on September 27th, meaning the first pre-sale effectively gives Visa users a two-day head start to secure their seats.
This move is part of Visa’s broader strategy of embedding its payment network into major global sporting events. “We have a long history of sporting partnerships at a global level,” said Leila Serhan, a Senior Vice President at Visa, framing the pre-sale as a way to give cardholders the chance to “experience the magic and passion of sport.”
Beyond early ticket access, Visa is also running a “Kids Program” as part of its sponsorship deal. The initiative will give approximately 1,150 children between the ages of 8 and 10 the opportunity to walk onto the pitch as player escorts.
For fans wanting to take advantage of the pre-sale, registration is required on the official CAF ticketing platform between September 12th and September 24th. This will notify them when the sales go live. Naturally, you’ll need a Visa card to complete the purchase during the exclusive windows.
