Uber has hit the big one-oh in Kenya, and it’s celebrating with a classic tech-company move: free stuff. The company announced it’s offering free Uber Boda rides for the rest of the week to mark its 10th anniversary in the country.
Here’s the deal: The promotion is live right now and runs until Thursday, October 30th. It’s not an all-day free-for-all, however. The offer is strategically timed to hit the peak morning rush hour, with rides being free only between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM. It’s a clear shot at capturing commuters trying to weave through morning traffic on their way to work or school.
The offer applies specifically to Uber Boda, the platform’s popular two-wheeler option, not its car-based rides.
