We are incredibly excited to announce that Techish has been nominated for the Technology Creator award at the upcoming 2025 BAKE Awards.
This nomination is a huge honour for us. It validates the thousands of hours we’ve poured into breaking news, reviewing the latest gadgets, and analyzing the digital landscape in Kenya and beyond. The Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) revealed the full list of nominees this week, following a rigorous selection process that began in September.
The Category: Technology Creator
We are nominated in the Technology Creator category. This award recognises creators who cover technology matters including gadgets, social media, web culture, internet usage, and tech startups.

Being shortlisted alongside these creators is a testament to the vibrancy of Kenya’s tech ecosystem. As BAKE Chairperson Kennedy Kachwanya noted, this year’s awards celebrate the “resilience and influence of Kenyan digital storytellers” who use their platforms to educate and inspire.
A Celebration of Digital Storytelling
The BAKE Awards have evolved significantly over the years. What started as a competition exclusively for bloggers has grown into a comprehensive celebration of all facets of online content creation, including YouTube, TikTok, and social media.
The 2025 edition saw a “massive call for submissions” and a highly competitive vetting process led by industry experts like media policy specialist Leo Mutisya and creative strategist Ahmad Salim. Making the final cut is a milestone we don’t take for granted.
