Infinix has officially confirmed that the Note 50 Series will be unveiled on March 3, 2025, succeeding last year’s Note 40 Series. This new lineup aims to push the boundaries of affordable innovation with a notable focus on AI capabilities, enhanced battery performance, and faster charging technologies.
A Refreshed Design and Upgraded Hardware
The Note 50 Series will be introducing a refined design, visible through teaser videos posted on various Infinix official Instagram account. One of the most striking design changes is the octagonal rear camera module, which houses a triple-camera setup along with an LED flash. This marks a slight departure from the design language seen in the Note 40 lineup.
On the hardware front, certifications from both FCC and TUV Rheinland have already revealed some key specifications. The standard Note 50 is expected to feature a 5,100mAh battery, slightly larger than the 5,000mAh unit found in the Note 40 5G. Meanwhile, the Note 50 Pro+ may carry a 5,080mAh battery.
In terms of charging speeds, the base Note 50 is expected to offer 45W fast charging, consistent with its predecessor. However, the Note 50 Pro+ may things further with 90W fast charging, which places it ahead of many competitors in the mid-range segment.
AI Takes Center Stage with DeepSeek R1 Integration
What truly sets the Note 50 Series apart from its predecessors — and much of the competition — is the DeepSeek R1 AI integration. According to reports, DeepSeek R1 will be deeply embedded into Infinix’s Folax voice assistant, bringing smarter, faster, and more intuitive interactions directly to users. This is the third company expected to be using DeepSeek – following OPPO and TECNO announcements of the same.
This deepening commitment to AI isn’t new for the brand. As we covered in our earlier piece on Infinix Joining the AI Race with Infinix AI, Infinix has been steadily investing in artificial intelligence tools to improve user experiences. The Note 50 Series represents the next step in that journey, where on-device AI capabilities take center stage in day-to-day phone operations.

According to GSMArena, Infinix’s internal testing showed that Folax with DeepSeek R1 demonstrated noticeably faster response times, better understanding of complex commands, and enhanced contextual awareness compared to traditional assistants found on budget smartphones. Users will be able to trigger Folax either via the power button shortcut or through voice activation, making it seamlessly accessible.
Connectivity and Other Features
In addition to upgraded AI capabilities, the Note 50 Series will also offer a comprehensive set of connectivity options. These include dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC support, and both 4G and 5G connectivity, ensuring future-proof compatibility for different markets. These features were confirmed through FCC certification listings that surfaced ahead of the official announcement.
The series will also retain a 9mm thickness, which balances a larger battery while ensuring a relatively slim profile. This suggests Infinix is prioritizing battery life and performance without compromising design aesthetics.
Evolving with Smart Security
Beyond performance and design upgrades, Infinix has also shown a growing interest in AI-powered device security. The company previously introduced AI-powered Theft Lock Features, which add extra layers of protection to their devices, helping users recover lost or stolen phones more easily. With the Note 50 Series incorporating even more AI elements, there’s a strong possibility that Infinix will further enhance its security features using DeepSeek R1’s advanced capabilities.
A Strategic Play for 2025
The Note 50 Series is not just a product refresh; it reflects Infinix’s broader strategy to establish itself as an innovator in the affordable smartphone segment. By combining cutting-edge AI, bigger batteries, faster charging, and refined design, Infinix is betting that smarter features will drive user adoption.
As competition in the under-KES 40,000 segment intensifies, AI-powered tools like Folax with DeepSeek R1 could help differentiate Infinix from rivals, offering a more personalized and responsive user experience.
With the official launch just days away, all eyes are on Infinix to see whether the Note 50 Series can deliver on its promises and carve out a stronger position in the ever-competitive mid-range smartphone market.
