The realme C01 has appeared in a Vietnamese retailer listing with a 6,500mAh battery and a 120Hz display. Part of realme’s entry-level C series of Android phones, it has a large screen and battery alongside an 8MP rear camera and 4GB of RAM, the working memory apps use.
The listing from The Gioi Di Dong, a Vietnamese electronics retailer, included prompts to register interest. A catalogue entry doesn’t confirm that stock is ready to buy, or that the phone is launching in Kenya. We haven’t verified a Kenyan price or sale date, both of which a buyer here needs before deciding whether to buy it.
The C01’s screen can refresh quickly, although the internals are modest, and its large battery charges at 15W. That combination affects how the phone feels to use and how you charge it.
A large battery, with 15W charging
The 6,500mAh figure describes battery capacity. Charging power tells you how quickly energy goes back into the battery, and the retailer lists a maximum of 15W. So the C01 has a large battery without a particularly quick top-up when you plug it in.
We haven’t tested its endurance, and there is no verified full-charge time. How long it lasts will depend on the apps you use, screen brightness and mobile signal strength. The capacity is a reason to consider it, but it doesn’t tell us how many days you will get between charges.
The 6.8-inch HD+ LCD can refresh up to 120 times a second. That can make scrolling look smoother when the software and app support it. The HD+ specification describes resolution, which determines image detail; a higher refresh rate doesn’t make that image more detailed.
Nor does a 120Hz screen guarantee games will run at 120 frames per second. The Unisoc T7250 processor, which runs the phone’s apps, has to produce those frames. Its performance and the limits of the 4GB RAM need to be judged separately from the screen’s refresh rate. We would need to use the phone to judge how well they work together.
| Specification | Listed realme C01 configuration |
|---|---|
| Display | 6.8-inch HD+ LCD, 120Hz |
| Processor | Unisoc T7250 |
| RAM | 4GB |
| Storage | 64GB, expandable with microSD |
| Rear camera | 8MP |
| Front camera | 5MP |
| Battery | 6,500mAh |
| Charging | 15W |
| Software | Android 16 |
| Mobile network | 4G, two Nano-SIMs |
| Protection | IP64 |
The microSD slot lets you add storage for files as your photo or video collection grows. It doesn’t add physical RAM, so extra file space won’t increase the working memory available to apps running at the same time.
What buyers still need to know
The C01 is also listed with a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone socket and a fingerprint sensor on the side. Its IP64 rating covers dust and water splashes, not submersion. You shouldn’t use it underwater.
Last year, we covered the realme C75X’s arrival in Kenya. Local buyers have seen realme’s budget phones before, but that history doesn’t confirm the C01 as the C75X’s successor or tell us whether it will reach Kenya through the same sales channels.
The Vietnamese description lists Android 16 without naming the software interface or stating how many Android upgrades and years of security updates the phone will receive. The length of that support helps a buyer judge how long to keep the phone, so it belongs alongside the price when assessing value.
For someone who wants a large screen and prioritises battery capacity, the listed hardware makes the C01 worth considering. We still need to assess the cameras and charging, and test its performance. A confirmed Kenyan price and support commitment would let buyers make a more useful comparison with phones already on sale here.
