If you have a OnePlus 5 or a 5T, you should start getting excited for the new announcement by OnePlus for Oxygen OS. The new update, still in beta phase, comes with an update to the latest version of Android, that’s 8.1 Oreo.
This is the 6th Open Beta for the OnePlus 5, and the 4th for the 5T.
The update brings to the table the following for both phones:
- Android 8.1 Oreo
- February Android Security Patch
- AutoPick Gesture – Answering Phone calls by raising the phone
- More clock styles for Ambient display
- More gaming optimisations
- Easier switch from old phone to OnePlus
- Bug fixes
The OnePlus 5T is also receiving an update to make the full screen gesture system better.
Check out your OTA updates if you’re in the beta program. For the rest of us, we wait for the official roll out which is hopefully coming in the next few weeks.
Also, fingers-crossed there will be an update to Android P whenever that launches for OnePlus phones up to OnePlus 3.
