Samsung may soon launch a cheaper variant of the NOTE 10. This is according to report that claims the company is developing a new phone with the model number SM-N770F (source).
This could be either be the company’s answer to the iPhone 11 which starts at $699 only. Or it could be the company looking to continue with the success of the Galaxy S10e. The cheaper device may be called the NOTE 10e.
I used the Galaxy S10e, and I really loved it. It was a perfect compact phone, with an excellent design, and excellent specs.
What’s not clear though is why Samsung would make a cheaper NOTE 10 right now, many weeks post announcement of the NOTE 10 Plus and NOTE 10.
Samsung back in August, announced two NOTE devices: The NOTE 10 PLUS, and the NOTE 10. The normal NOTE 10 though a powerful device, didn’t impress much and isn’t seen as a replacement of last year’s NOTE 9. It comes with a Full HD display instead of a qHD one. It comes with no MicroSD Card slot, a small battery, and a hefty price tag.
The question many people are asking is what a NOTE 10e would pack. What compromises would Samsung make on the device? And how “cheap” would it be compared to the NOTE 10, and the NOTE 10 Plus.
They cannot remove the S-Pen, that would be stupid. They cannot reduce the battery size compared to the normal NOTE 10. They can only change the RAM, and Storage. And perhaps the cameras, and the under-display fingerprint scanner. I hope they don’t change the processor, because that would immediately make it lose flagship status.
What are your thoughts on this? How do you think the NOTE 10e should be priced?
