OPPO A5 and A9 (2020) now receiving Android 10 with ColorOS 7.1

The global variants for the OPPO A5 and A9 (2020) are set to start receiving ColorOS 7.1 which brings Android 10 goodness to these devices. This is in line with OPPO’s roadmap to update some of their devices to Android 10. The roadmap runs through the coming months with OPPO setting out to update their midrange devices from last year.

With ColorOs 7.1, as we saw on the OPPO RENO 3 video, OPPO has shifted strategy from a full skin with millions of unnecessary stuff, and copying of iOS to something mild, with no bloatware, offering a much better experience. Users get dark mode, a new navigation system, new visuals, new ways to take screenshots, and much more.

If you have an A5 or an A9, you will notice the dramatic shift after the update, and you may love it. Check Settings > Software update > Update to download the over 3.2GB update.

Currently, if you’ve been eyeing the A9 2020, OPPO has already launched the OPPO A92 in Kenya – it is an upgrade to the A9 2020. And a review of it is coming soon. The good thing is it came running Android 10.
