OPPO A93 Android 11 Official Update now available in Kenya

After weeks of testing Android 11 beta on the OPPO A93, the official Android 11 Update is now rolling out. Check out your Settings > Software Updates to download the update which will then take a few minutes installing. This should be the full official update, and not the beta version that was availed back on January 5th.

One thing to remember though before updating your phone is that if you use a banking app in Kenya, most of them haven’t been updated to support Android 11 phones. So by updating you will be locking yourself out of your bank app. If this is important to you, hold back on installing the update until your bank updates their app to support Android 11.

The OPPO A93 remains my favourite OPPO phone all through the year, and I still have it as my primary device because of the great display, great performance, and great overall price. The battery life is amazing, the cameras are quite good, and I am loving the user interface thanks to OPPO changing course and embracing the stock Android feel. If you want to get in on the OPPO experience, a phone I’d advice you to get is the OPPO A93.

Android 11 on the OPPO A93 brings new things including:

  1. New approach to notifications
  2. New edge lighting when notifications arrive
  3. More customisable features under the Always ON Display
  4. New Google Assistant integration
  5. Battery guard for adaptive charging
  6. Even more embracing of official Google Apps
  7. And much more.
