OPPO’s latest in the country is the RENO5 series. Here you can choose between the Reno5, and the Reno5 F. The Reno5 starts at KES. 41,999 while the Reno 5F starts at KES. 31,999. Today, the Reno 5F has gone on sale and is available through OPPO Brand shops, authorised dealers, and e-commerce platforms like Jumia, Kilimall and Masoko.
The company says the Reno5 F is packaged in a simple, yet elegantly thin design that uses OPPO’s new Flowing Light Design concept to introduce two dazzling colours.
Muthoni Wachira, Head of Communications & Projects at OPPO Kenya said, “The Reno5 F is the culmination of both user feedback and the extensive research. The 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 ensures that Reno5 F is a great accompaniment to your life.”
“Just as has been tradition with OPPO smartphones, the Reno5 F will definitely bring out the creativity in its users with new video capturing features that put the power of expert video productions in the palm of your hands,” she added.
The Reno5 F features a 48MP main camera, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP mono camera. This is in addition to the 32MP selfie camera on the front.
OPPO says it has worked on the Camera software bringing to the device AI Color Portrait Video, that helps capturing beautiful videos by recognising the person in the video, and distinguishing them from the background. There’s also Monochrome Video, and Dual-View modes for different perspectives when recording video.
The camera also has features like dynamic bokeh, night flare portrait, AI beautification, AI scene enhancement, and SoLoop an app to help you easily edit your videos with filters, subtitles and music, and share them to your socials.
In terms of design, the Reno5 F has a 7.88mm slim body, and weighs only 172g. The back is a 3D curved design. At the front, you get a 6.43 inch Super AMOLED display that boast of a 90.8% screen to body ratio. Thanks to the AMOLED panel, the phone now has an in-display fingerprint scanner with new, faster technology.
You can pick up the device in two colour variants: Fantastic Purple, or Fluid Black. To achieve the Fantastic Purple colour, OPPO says they used a liquid crystal coating process. That’s why you’ll catch hidden shades of purple and aurora-like greens from certain angles of light on this variant. For a more traditional colour, the Fluid Black version showcases a black light-to-dark gradient whose colour resembles a fading inkblot in water.
You will be able to fast charge your Reno5 F’s 4310mAh battery with a 30W VOOV charger included in the box. With this, OPPO says you will be able to get 2.9hrs of YouTube from just 5 minutes of charging. A review of the OPPO Reno5 F will be up soon, once we get a unit. You can ask any questions you may have, and those will be answered in the review.
