Nokia T20 Tablet officially launched; Goes for KES 30,000

HMD Global has officially launched the Nokia T20 tablet in the Kenyan market. The new tablet, the company says, brings the classic Nokia phone quality to the big screen with a range of versatile features and a long-lasting battery which will help your at work and when relaxing.

The new T20 marks the beginning of a new Nokia T-series – which we assume is the tablet series lineup. The company says the tablet is packed with innovative and accessible features you’ll love including a 2K screen, three years of monthly updates and two years of OS upgrades.

Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager Kenya & East Africa HMD Global revealed: “We pride ourselves on always listening and responding to people’s wishes. Over the past year, we noticed the increase in hybrid working and online learning, as well as the growing use of social media, video calling platforms and streaming services – leading to an increase in the appetite for tablets, which grew an impressive 53% in Q1 from 2020 to 2021. So, we created HMD Global’s first-ever Nokia tablet to address people’s changing needs and their desire for versatile technology and features. Designed for work, learning and play, our Nokia T20 offers the classic qualities people have come to love and expect from our smartphones, in a brand-new format.”

Ben Wood, Chief Analyst at CCS Insight, added: “There has been a renaissance in the tablet market. Our latest Connected Consumer Radar report underlines how important this category has become, with 27% of owners seeing more value from their tablets since the pandemic began.”
