Infinix NOTE 12 5G and NOTE 12 Pro 5G launched

Infinix is adding two new devices to their NOTE 12 Series lineup. These are the NOTE 12 5G and the NOTE 12 Pro 5G. As it stands, these are the phones in the NOTE 12 Lineup:

• NOTE 12i
• NOTE 12 G88
• NOTE 12 G96
• NOTE 12 VIP
• NOTE 12 5G
• NOTE 12 Pro 5G

Remember, there will also be a NOTE 12 device later on that’ll be the first to use the Helio G99 processor.

Those are a lot of phones to push under one series. Which makes you wonder how the decision to make all of them was reached. And how they’ll manage to educate customers into understanding how different each device is when pushing them. Isn’t that a concern? That a customer might end up buying something different from what they actually want because they’re many different phones all at once?

Anyways, the new NOTE 12 5G devices are pretty similar. They both use the Mediatek Dimensity 810 5G chipset. They both have a 5000mAh battery supporting 33W fast charging. They both have a 16MP selfie camera. They also both have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display

However, the NOTE 12 Pro 5G differs from the normal NOTE 12 5G in these two ways:

• While the normal version has a 50MP main camera, the Pro has a 108MP main camera
• While the normal 6GB RAM expandable by 3GB, the Pro has 8GB RAM expandable by 5GB

It’s not yet clear if both devices will be coming to the Kenyan market. However, given the 5G variant was mentioned during the NOTE 12 VIP launch, we just might see one of them being available locally later on.

I’m curious to see what angle they push it, given the NOTE 12 VIP has been given the spotlight all through.
