MDaaS Global, a healthtech company in Nigeria, has secured an additional $3 million in what they now term as Pre-Series A funding round. The investment, co-led by Aruwa Capital Management with participation from existing investors Newtown Partners and Ventures Platform, aims to expand the company’s reach and technological capabilities across Nigeria.
The new capital will be used to develop MDaaS Global‘s innovative technology platform, BeaconOS, and to grow its network of healthcare facilities to all 36 states in Nigeria. This expansion is a significant step toward the company’s mission of democratizing access to high-quality diagnostics and healthcare for underserved communities.
Key Highlights of the MDaaS’ BeaconOS:
- BeaconOS as the Backbone: The BeaconOS platform serves as the digital foundation for MDaaS Global’s operations, streamlining processes and connecting their physical clinics to a wider network of partners.
- Scaling Up with Technology: New applications will be developed on BeaconOS, including a portal for affiliate clinics, digital integrations with HMOs, and a patient-facing app to facilitate better healthcare management.
- Addressing a Critical Need: The investment underscores the urgent need for improved diagnostic services across Africa, where only 30% of health facilities are properly equipped, according to the WHO.
Since its inception in 2017, MDaaS Global has grown significantly, now serving over 275,000 patients across 17 locations in 10 Nigerian states. The company provides essential imaging, cardiac, and laboratory services and supports over 1,300 healthcare facilities, companies, and HMOs.
“At MDaaS Global, we’re leveraging our deep understanding of Nigeria’s healthcare challenges to develop technology solutions tailored to the African experience,” said Oluwasoga Oni, CEO of MDaaS Global. “BeaconOS empowers our patients and partners with solutions customized to their needs, revolutionizing healthcare delivery across Africa.”
