A few days ago, when we published an article on SearchGPT, we shared it on Facebook as we normally do. Almost immediately, the post was deleted, with Facebook labeling it as spam. This unexpected action left us puzzled, as we’ve routinely shared our content across our Facebook groups and pages without issue.
In the past, Facebook has been a key platform for us to engage with our audience and share our latest articles. However, this time, despite following our usual process, the post was taken down, and we were given no clear explanation as to why.
This isn’t the first time we’ve encountered issues with Facebook’s content moderation. Over a year ago, our main Facebook page, which had over 4,000 followers, was deleted after we shared an article about Airtel Kenya. Like the recent incident, that post was also marked as spam, and the entire page was removed without proper justification or recourse. That page was never recovered. We only recovered our username.
The lack of communication from Facebook has been one of the most frustrating aspects of these experiences. Despite reaching out for more information on why our posts were flagged, we’ve received no clear answers. The inability to speak to a real person or get timely support when something goes wrong is a significant problem.
We continue to share content across other platforms without issue, but these experiences with Facebook highlight the risks of relying on any single platform for content distribution. As we move forward, we are exploring other ways to engage with our audience and ensure our content remains accessible, regardless of platform challenges.
The arbitrary nature of these deletions and the lack of support from Facebook is not just frustrating but also impacts our ability to serve our readers effectively. We hope that by sharing our experience, we can bring attention to these issues and advocate for better communication and transparency from platforms like Facebook.
