Eligibility Criteria: Is Your Startup Ready?

To ensure that your startup is eligible for the competition, make sure you meet the following criteria:

  1. Early-Stage AgriTech Startup: Your business should be focused on agricultural technology and still in its early stages of development.
  2. Monthly Recurring Revenue: Your startup must have a minimum of $5,000 in monthly recurring revenue.
  3. Funding Raised: Your startup should have raised between $0 and $1 million in cumulative funding.
  4. Years in Existence: Your startup should be 3 years old or less.
  5. Operational Presence: Your startup must be operational in one of the 14 eligible countries: Benin, Cape Verde, Côte D’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Mali, and Togo.
  6. Founding Team: Your startup must have at least two founding team members.
  7. Preferred Registration: While not mandatory, it’s preferred that your startup is registered in Delaware.
  8. Business Model: All types of business models are accepted, whether B2B, B2C, B2B2C, or B2G.
  9. Pitch Language: All participants must pitch in English.

How to Apply:

The application process is straightforward but requires attention to detail to ensure your startup stands out. Here’s how to apply:

  1. Complete the Online Application: Start by filling out the online application form with all the required details about your startup.
  2. Submit a Pitch Deck: Prepare a comprehensive pitch deck that outlines your business model, market opportunity, traction, financial projections, and how you plan to use the $50,000 equity funding if you win.
  3. Record a 3-Minute Video Pitch: Create a compelling video pitch that succinctly explains your startup, its impact, and why you deserve to win. This video should be no longer than 3 minutes.
  4. Top 10 Finalists from Each Country: After reviewing all applications, the top 10 finalists from each eligible country will be selected to move on to the next stage.
  5. Virtual Semi-Finals: The semi-finals will be conducted virtually, where each finalist will pitch live to a panel of judges. The top 5 startups from this round will proceed to the grand finale.
  6. Grand Finale and Demo Day: The competition will culminate in an in-person grand finale and demo day, where the top 5 startups will present their pitches once more. The date for the finals will be announced later.

  • Virtual Semi-Finals: 29th and 30th October 2024
