Safaricom has extended its 25% discount for Home Fibre customers until March 31, 2025. This discount applies to new customers, those upgrading to a higher plan, and 5G home internet users, including router purchases. However, the discount is not automatic and does not appear on the mySafaricom app – you must activate it manually via *400#.
Who Qualifies for the 25% Discount?
- New Home Fibre Customers – Get 25% off when signing up.
- Existing Customers Upgrading Their Plan – Moving to a higher-tier package qualifies for the discount.
- 5G Home Internet Users – Includes 25% off 5G packages and routers.
- Customers Paying in Advance – Additional savings apply for those paying for 3, 6, or 12 months upfront.
New Home Fibre Speeds and Pricing After Discount
In September 2024, Safaricom doubled Home Fibre speeds without increasing prices. Below are the current speeds, standard pricing, and what you’ll pay after the 25% discount:

How to Activate the 25% Discount
Since the discount is not automatically applied, you must manually request it via *400#:
- Dial
*400# - Select Option 1 (Home Fibre)
- Choose Option 3 (Change Plan)
- Upgrade to a higher-tier plan
Important: The mySafaricom app does not show the discounted pricing, so only use *400# to upgrade.
How We Got the Discount (And How You Can Too)
We downgraded our plan first, then re-upgraded after a while to trigger the system to apply the discount. If you haven’t upgraded yet, you can:
- Upgrade directly to a higher-tier plan to qualify.
- Downgrade to a lower plan first, then upgrade again to force the discount. Best of luck.
Important Restrictions Before Upgrading
- Once you upgrade, you cannot change or downgrade your package for 30 days.
- Paying for multiple months upfront unlocks additional savings – we saw this on *400#. NOTE this is paying upfront, not overpaying and having an overpayment appear on your account as this will revert to official pricing.
The offer runs until March 31, 2025, so take advantage before it expires.
